Based on the legendary Flow rims that have won World Cup DH and Enduro World Series events, Flow S2 wheelsets are a great upgrade for riders looking for better tubeless performance and excellent durability. Patented Bead Socket Technology means easier tubeless inflation and more confidence on the trail. An emphasis on durability means a reinforced and eyeletted spoke bed, a quality sleeved joint, and 6061 alloy construction. A 30mm internal width makes the Flow S2 ideal for 2.3-2.6” tires.
Durability, serviceability, and value: every E-sync hub is built around these three priorities. From cromoly steel axles and double row Enduro bearings, to special heat treated steel ratchet rings and a pawl design that reduces stress on freehub and bearings, every detail of the E-sync hub is designed for durability. E-sync hubs are also designed for fast engagement, with four pawls needing only 8.18° of rotation to engage simultaneously and put power to the ground. E-sync hubs are perfect for eBikes and riders who demand stronger components, but still want the fast engagement of a high-performance hub.
The Flow S2 wheelset is available with Shimano Micro Spline, HG, or SRAM XDR freehub, and 6-bolt or Centerlock brake style, with options to fit all popular axle configurations.Tubeless ready with rim tape comes pre-installed. S2 wheels are built to last long, but also be easy to service and update with changing axle and cassette standards. Traditional J-bend spokes and lacing have a proven history of ride quality, durability, and serviceability, and matched S2 wheelsets all use a single spoke length, making it even easier to own and service your S2 wheelset for years. The Flow S2 with E-sync hub is the perfect wheelset for riders who value durability and tubeless performance.

Been using Stan’s wheels for years great wheels fast shipping will continue to buy Stan’s products
I got these wheels on a Transition Spire. Very disappointed with the poor quality of the rim. I take care of spokes tensions and I am quite clean with line choices. Despite of that, the rim became quickly destroyed. I used to ride DT swiss 1700 in the past and they last longer than the Stans. I really don't recommend these wheels, sorry.
I'll start out by acknowledging that I don't have a reputation for being particularly kind to wheels; I ride an analog hardtail and tend to be more smashy smashy than delicate line choice. That said, knowing myself, I try to give my rims the best chance at survival as possible. I run a Tannus insert in the rear and I stick with harder casing tires at higher pressures, checking spoke tension when I can. After a year or so of riding these wheels, the rear rim has a pretty serious lateral hop (I'd guess it's about 4-6 mm out of true if I tension the spokes evenly). I was bummed by this, but I've accepted my alloy rims having a relatively short service life.
As for the hubs, I'm pretty disappointed. They spin great, keep dirt out, service easy, and the engagement is just fine. My gripe is with the freehub body: I'm running the HG version, and after a year of use, I had pitting on the splines to the point where I have to pry the stuck cogs off of the freehub body when I want to swap between the cassette and a single speed setup. For a hub that's supposed to be for e-bikes, this seems like a big miss to me. I'd expect to see a harder aluminum alloy or a steel freehub body, especially if it's designed to have a motor torquing on it.
To their credit, the front wheel has held up great, and the rear rim still holds air and is rideable. And someone using a Sram or other one-piece cassette will likely not have my same issue. But with the rims not being particularly strong and the "e-bike-rated" freehub body getting chewed up on a me-powered bicycle, I can't say I'd recommend these wheels to someone else.
I have absolutely put these wheels through the ringer on tours. I've got them on my Surly Ogre XL that's fully loaded with me (205ish lbs) my touring gear (75ish lbs), as well as pulling my dog in a Surly Ted trailer with her and her gear (120ish lbs). I put roughly 11,500ish miles on the back wheel with that weight before rim split started. Which is pretty dang good! For the money they are 5 star wheels. The four stars come from the communications I've had with Stan's which has never been that great in my experience. Would I order them again? I probably will!
Not happy with these rims. Came standard on my Norco Range C2. I’ve gotten 3 flats from the spokes going through the rim tape. Never happened on any other rim I’ve ever had. Just overall disappointed.
