This lock ring threads into Neo freehubs that are compatible with Shimano HG-style cassettes and secures a cog and spacers on the freehub. Used in conjunction with a spacer kit (sold separately), this spacer requires the use of a single-speed cog, available from many brands, but not offered by Stan's.
